Artful enough to intrigue adults and far more original than other versions of Cinderella portrayed onscreen with alarming regularity.. O'Haver ... has a great time juggling silly jokes, contemporary tunes and anachronisms like hand-cranked escalators at the medieval mall.. Perfectly charming as well as predictably eye-popping.. . Clean, lightweight escapism with a top-notch gimmick.. Hathaway plays Ella straight, but appealingly, and is the actor least suspected of being put through Photo Shop.....
